Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)
Cosmetic eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure to correct the excess skin, tissue and fat that contribute to puffiness and bags in both the upper and lower eyelids. Cosmetic eye surgery contributes to a more youthful and energetic appearance by treating the following conditions:
- Loose or sagging skin that creates folds or hides the natural contours of the eyelids
- Excess skin and fine wrinkles of the upper and lower eyelids
- Excess fatty deposits that cause puffiness in the upper eyelids
- Bags under the eyes
- Droopiness of the lower eyelids
Cosmetic eyelid surgery is for adults of any age with healthy facial tissue and muscles who do not suffer from medical conditions such as glaucoma, thyroid disorders, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, circulatory disorders or diabetes. It is recommended for nonsmokers who have a positive outlook and specific goals in mind for improving their appearance.
