Get Trim in No Time

Abdominoplasty - Missoula, Butte, Helena, Montana

The team at Northwest Plastic Surgery Associates, PLLC, understands the “battle of the bulge” that many people face. Individuals seeking a slimmer midsection or tighter abdominal skin following significant weight loss or pregnancy should consider abdominoplasty at our Missoula, Montana practice as their solution. Dr. Stephen Hardy* and our staff have years of training and experience performing abdominoplasty surgery. If you would like a trimmer tummy, please contact Northwest Plastic Surgery Associates, PLLC.

The Procedure

Abdominoplasty, otherwise known as a tummy tuck, is a surgical procedure to remove excess fat, skin, and tissue to correct a protruding or loose, sagging abdomen caused by heredity, multiple pregnancies, prior surgery, significant fluctuations in weight, or congenital spine abnormalities that affect posture. Not a substitute for weight loss or an appropriate exercise program, a tummy tuck can, however, create a smoother and firmer abdominal profile and addresses conditions like diastasis, where the abdominal muscles have weakened or separated.

Abdominoplasty Candidates

Good candidates for a tummy tuck are nonsmoking, healthy individuals without medical conditions that could impair healing; candidates should not be planning substantial weight loss or considering future pregnancies. To ensure the success and safety of your abdominoplasty, our Missoula team encourages you to be completely candid during your consultation with Dr. Hardy*. Your health, aesthetic desires, and lifestyle will be reviewed, and you should be prepared to discuss the reasons why you are considering a tummy tuck, as well as your expectations of your desired outcome. Dr. Hardy* will discuss your options, likely outcomes of the surgery, and any risks or potential complications. Dr. Hardy* may also recommend a course of treatment.

The decision to undergo abdominoplasty is extremely personal and you will have to decide if the benefits will achieve your goals. You will also need to determine whether the risks and potential complications are acceptable. If you choose to have a tummy tuck performed on an outpatient basis, be sure to arrange for someone to drive you to and from surgery and to stay with you for at least the first 48 hours following surgery.
